The job market is constantly evolving, with new technologies and tools emerging regularly. New industries and job roles are emerging, requiring students to acquire new skills. In order to create awareness about the emerging job market among students and make them market ready, the Department of Commerce organised a Seminar on the topic "Leadership rebooted ; Developing the skills for a changing world" on 22/8/2024 in college auditorium. It mainly focused on how a fresher could improve and enhance the skill to obtain a job. The session started with the prayer song followed by the welcome address delivered by Ms.Nandhitha from III B.Com. The dignitaries on the Dias were Dr.M. Susila Devi, the Principal, Dr.P.Deepa, Head of the Department and the Resource Person Ms. M.Kirthana, Associate HR., Tata Chemical Limited (Randstand) who is one of the alumni of the college. Our Principal honoured the Resource Person with a shawl and a memento. The Resource Person took over the session.
The session was mainly concentrated on the job opportunities and career guidance after the students under graduation program. The speaker insisted on the skills to be acquired like the soft skills, hard skill, behaviour skills, technical skill and functional skill. Then she continued with the training course that students can obtain related to their academic discipline also she clearly explain on which portals the students can post their resumes for the job. She concluded the session with the emphasis on women empowerment and with the saying "Never stop learning and always up skill and reskill yourself ". It was an eye opening session for the students who gained more knowledge and wisdom about their future career. The session wrapped up with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms.Sabitha from III B.Com CS.
