In accordance with the AICTE Order No. F. No. 1-101/PGRC/AICTE/Regulation/2019 dated 07.11.2019, the college has established a Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) to provide a structured mechanism for addressing and resolving grievances raised by students. This initiative aligns with the guidelines set forth by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), ensuring fairness and transparency in academic and administrative operations. This will ensure that students can voice their concerns effectively, and that appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner.

Objectives of the Grievance Cell

The SGRC aims to:

  • Promote Dignity and Harmony: Maintain a strife-free atmosphere by fostering positive relationships among students and between students and faculty.
  • Encourage Open Expression: Create an environment where students can freely express grievances without fear of victimization or retaliation.
  • Anonymous Feedback Mechanism: Facilitate anonymous submissions of grievances and suggestions through dedicated suggestion boxes placed around the campus.
  • Conflict Resolution: Advise students to respect each other's rights and dignity, promoting patience and restraint in conflict situations.
  • Prevent Unfair Practices: Proactively address and prevent ragging and any other forms of harassment.

Scope of the Grievance Redressal Cell

The SGRC addresses written grievances related to:aa

  • Academic Matters: Issues regarding the issuance of duplicate mark sheets, transfer certificates, and other examination-related concerns.
  • Financial Matters: Complaints related to dues and payments for library services, hostel fees, and other financial obligations.
  • Health and Safety Matters: Concerns regarding sanitation, food quality, transport availability, and victimization by faculty or peers.
  • Administrative Matters: Complaints about administrative processes affecting students' rights and academic progression.

Functions of the Grievance Cell

The SGRC is responsible for:

  • Timely Attention: Promptly addressing grievances upon receipt of written complaints.
  • Case Review: Formally reviewing all cases and determining actions based on management policies.
  • Reporting: Providing regular reports to higher authorities on resolved and pending cases, ensuring accountability and transparency.
  • Counselling and Support: Offering professional counselling for serious grievances, particularly those related to harassment or discrimination.

Procedure for Lodging Complaints

Students can lodge grievances through the following methods:

  1. Written Submission: Complaints can be submitted in writing via forms available in the administrative department or directly at the grievance cell.
  2. Email Communication: Students can send complaints to the officer in charge at [email protected].
  3. Suggestion Boxes: Anonymous submissions can be made via suggestion boxes placed in strategic locations around the campus, including the administrative block, library, and hostels.

  • Support Mechanisms: The committee provides counselling services for students dealing with serious issues, including harassment. Parents may also be involved in discussions when necessary to ensure a supportive environment.

  • Publicity: Information about the Grievance Redressal Mechanism is displayed prominently on campus, including contact information for committee members and details about how to lodge complaints.
  • Online Portal: An online Grievance Redressal Portal is available, allowing students to submit grievances digitally for convenience and efficiency.
