Blood Donation Camp Report - 2023

Date: 08.03.2023

            On behalf of Women’s Day celebration, our institution organized a blood donation camp on campus. The event was organized and executed with the support of our secretary, Rev. Sr. Sagayam. The camp commenced at 10 am, facilitated by Dr. Sridhar. Nearly 27 students from various departments participated, resulting in the collection of 27 units of blood. The students who donated blood were encouraged with refreshments, including dates and juice.

Awareness Programme on Anti drugs

Date: 10.05.2023

   An awareness program on anti-drugs was conducted in our college. Mrs. R. Mageswary, Inspector of Police, and Mr. P. R. Michael Irudhayaraj, Inspector of Police from Reddichavady Station, Cuddalore, were invited as chief guests. They provided comprehensive information on the ill effects of drug and alcohol consumption.

 

Anti Drug Club Awareness

   Our college clubs, in collaboration with the Anti-Drug Club, jointly organized an awareness campaign against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Our NSS volunteers contributed to the effort by distributing pamphlets in Cuddalore to raise awareness

 

Awareness Programme on Breastfeeding

  Every year, World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated in the first week of August with the aim of raising awareness about breastfeeding and its benefits. This year, Mrs. S. Rajeswari, a professor at Kasthurba Gandhi Nursing College, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Puducherry, gave a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the importance of breastfeeding for young and working mothers.

District level HIV AWARNESS RED RUN Marathon  -2023

Date: 26.08.2023

   The District Level HIV Awareness Red Run Marathon 2023, organized by the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS), was conducted for college students of Red Ribbon Clubs. The marathon was inaugurated by our District Collector and DSP, starting from Town Hall and ending at Periyar Arts College. Over 70 students from our college participated in the event. Notably, our student A. Parameswari, a second-year B.Com (CS) student, secured 6th place.

            Our college clubs, in association with Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Pondicherry, jointly organized an awareness program on breast cancer. The chief guests, Dr. Porshiya from Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Pondicherry, and Dr. K. Gokula Nathan, Senior Research Fellow at the Regenerative Medicine & Stem Cell Laboratory, Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, delivered informative talks. They discussed breast cancer, explained proper breastfeeding techniques, and advised against self-medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

 

International Cancer Awareness Rally

            An international cancer awareness rally was organized by Anvika Hospital and the YRC Clubs of our college. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, Mr. I. Praveen Iyyappan. The rally commenced at the Town Hall and concluded at Manjakuppam Stadium. Dr. Vikas Babu, Chairman of Anvika Hospital, and Dr. B. Kalaikovan, a Pulmonologist Specialist, delivered speeches on the stages of cancer.

 

 

Blood Donation Camp Report - 2024

The YRC unit of Immaculate College for Women, Cuddalore, in collaboration with the Government Headquarters Hospital, Cuddalore, organized a blood donation camp. The event was inaugurated by our esteemed chief guest, Dr. A. Kumar, District Blood Transfusion Officer, Cuddalore, along with Rev. Sr. Sagaya Mary Natchathiram, Dr. M. Susila Devi, Principal, Dr. Chitra, HR of Immaculate College for Women, and Mr. K. Kathiravan, District Supervisor, Cuddalore. The event took place at Immaculate College for Women, Chinnakangakuppam.

 

This impactful event brought our community together to donate blood and support those in need. From first-time donors to longtime supporters, every contribution made a significant difference in saving lives. The students, volunteers, and staff members of Immaculate College for Women showed immense dedication, making a meaningful impact through their collective efforts.
