A Report on National Science Day 2025
Department of Chemistry, Immaculate College for women, Cuddalore, celebrated ‘National Science day on 28 February, 2025. The theme for the Year 2025 was “Integrated approach in Chemistry for a sustainable future” The day was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The Inaugural function was attended by HOD and Faculty members of the department of chemistry, ICW. Ms.Nivedha, II M.Sc Chemistry , has formally welcomed all the participants gathered for the celebration and gave the insights on how Science and Technology should walk hand in hand to solve the current societal problems. Ms. Jancy ( I MSc Chemistry) had highlighted the importance of Materials science and highlighted on how the generation of new ideas is possible through the organization and celebration of such events. The programme included a wide range of activities like quiz competition, Drawing competition and poster presentations competitions. Students are participated enthusiastically in these events. Ms. Jothilakshmi from II M.Sc Chemistry and Ms. Madhumitha from I MSc Chemistry has received first and second prizes for the poster competition. Science Day Drawing competition was conducted for the students and the event was evaluated by Mrs. Lesy Josephine and Mrs.Lavanya. Ms. Aarthi from III B.Sc. Chemistry and Ms. Pricilla Christy from I B.Sc., Chemistry has received first and second prize, respectively. Quiz competition was conducted for the students. Around 18 students have participated in the event. The first and second prize was won by IIst B.Sc., Chemistry and I BSc Chemistry students.The Science Day programme was a successful and informative event that aimed to promote scientific knowledge and interest in science. We would like to thank Management, Principal, HOD and Faculty members, for the successful completion of event. Overall, the Science Day programme played an important role in highlighting the importance of science in our daily lives and inspiring future generations of scientists. The HOD honour had congratulated all the prize-winners. Finally Ms.Shalini III B.Sc Chemistry has delivered the vote of thanks.
