The Department of English at Immaculate College for Women joyfully inaugurated its literary association, titled “Smile – The Scintillating and Mesmerizing Immaculate Literary Elixir” on 17.07.25 at 12pm. The celebration marked a spirited beginning to the academic year, launching fresh literary aspirations and formally introducing the association’s new office bearers.
The event opened with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the illumination of wisdom and learning. An elegant cultural dance performance followed, adding artistic vibrancy to the gathering.
The occasion was graced by key dignitaries including Rev. Sr. Dr. Mary Nirmala Rani, Secretary of the College, Dr. M. Susila Devi, Principal, and Mrs. Gladiya Amali, Head of the English Department, accompanied by the esteemed faculty. Their presence underscored the institution’s unwavering commitment to nurture creativity and academic excellence.
A notable segment of the program was the introduction of Mrs. Jothilakshmi, Assistant Professor of English, as the newly appointed Secretary of the Literary Association. She unveiled the department’s literary roadmap for the year, emphasizing activities that promote critical thinking, creative expression, and collaborative learning.
To encourage active engagement, the program featured a lively “Connection Game,”designed to foster linguistic play and peer interaction, in alignment with the association’s creative spirit.
